How to patch (with SCCM) Server Storage 2008 R2 SAN in a cluster?

We are new to the cluster world so I apologize if this turns out to be a stupid question. We have a closed/private network that has a database.  The DB is MS SQL Server 2008 that is clustered on MS Server 2008 R2 Ent. There are 2 nodes and 1 SAN, the SAN is running MS Server Storage 2008 R2. We have an offsite carbon copy of that setup also, and it will be updated using log shipping. In our domain we are also running MS SCCM 2007 as our means of patching our machines. So finally to our concern, I think I understand how to patch a node in the cluster what I don’t understand is how to patch the SAN. If I just push a patch that requires a reboot when the SAN reboots won’t it kill the cluster? I’ve done some hunting for this info and I can only seem to find info on patching the nodes, not the SAN. Can anyone give me some info about this?

Thanks for looking and any help that you can provide.
