We were doing a disaster recovery test this weekend and turned off one of our domain controllers. Eventually the cluster shut down (Server 2012), and all of our Hyper-V VMs rebooted.
Event log entries are 10028 - DCom was unable to communicate with the computer <cluster name> using any of the configured protocols
1230 - Cluster resource <vm guest name> did not respond to a request in a timely fashion. Cluster health detection will attempt to automatically recover by terminating the Resource Hosting Subsystem (RHS) process running this resource...
Event ID 1069 Cluster resource "<vm guest name> failed.
Event ID 1205 - The cluster service failed to bring clustered service or application <vm guest name> completely online or offline
Event 1228 Cluster network name resource 'Cluster Name' encountered an error enabling the network name on this node. The reason for the failure was: 'Check if a domain controller is reachable and that the computer object <clustername$> is present in Active Directory.' The error code was '8250'
Our DCs are both physical, and the other one remained online during this time (as far as we can tell, anyway). Our DCs also host DHCP, DNS, and WINS.
Any thoughts as to why the cluster wasn't able to switch to the other DC?
Thanks,
TJ
