Windows 2012 Server Failover Cluster with hardware RAID local storage

Current setup:

Four Dell servers.  Two in one city and two in another connected via Metro E. All servers have local RAID storage (Dell Perc H710).  We run DFS-R now for data replication.

Goal:

We want to go virtual using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.  The goal is to make the VM’s HA, but the data has to be HA too. I’m confused because I’m being told this isn’t possible with local RAID controlled SAS drives.  However, I’ve been reading that this is possible with the new SMB 3.0 protocol.

I believe Starwind or similar will work, but I’m also being pointed to new “Cluster in a Box Controllers.” Or, perhaps, a new controller card that will allow my drives to be seen as JBOD’s and then use Window’s Storage Pools.

I know this question has been asked before, but I'm hoping the answer is different since newer technolgies are now available.  Any and all advice is always appreciated, thanks.
