Can I upgrade a cluster to Server 2012 by evicting 1 node, building a new 1 node cluster, and running cluster migration wizard?

I've got a 2 node hyperv cluster running 2008R2 SP1 with a CSV on a fiber attached SAN.  I want to 'upgrade' to server 2012.  Can I do this by:

  1. Evicting Node 2 from the cluster
  2. Rebuild Node 2 with a clean install of Server 2012 datacenter
  3. Install failover clustering and set "node2" up as a single node hyperv cluster
  4. Run the cluster migration wizard to migrate the cluster settings and workload over from Node 1.
  5. Wipe and rebuild node1 with Server 2012, and add it to the new cluster

Will that work?  Is it supported?

If so, how does the CSV fit in?  It would still be in use by node 1 on the 2008R2 cluster until such time as node2 of the 2012 cluster is ready to take over.

Thanks!
