In a test environment I created an Hyper-V server 2012 cluster with 1 iscsi CSV with VM's on it which worked fine.
Today I found some spare memory modules so I decided to upgrade the memory one of the hosts.
From Failover Cluster manager I gave the command 'shutdown cluster' and headed out to the server room.
Ik noticed the hoist was still running so I logged on to the console and shut it down using sconfig (Hyper-V server 2012, no GUI)
After the upgrade the server didn't start anymore complaining about the vhd on the usb-key it was booting from. I thought by myself: "Hey no problem, I'll just bring up the other node and the VM's on the CSV first and then fix the broken host!"
As you can quess I have failed to bring up anything... Long story short:
The CSV shows up as 'reserved' in disk management and cannot be brought online in any way.
Clear-ClusterDiskReservation cmdlet doesn't seem to do anything.
CLuster service is running but every 'cluster' cmdlet gives the error:The remote server has been paused or is in the process of being started.
Various fixes for this are to be found on the 'net but they all rely on cluster command(let)s that give me the above error.
Server Manager 2012 gives me the option to remove the CSV but I'm afraid I'l loose the VM's on them in which quite some time is invested.
So I'm stuck...
I would really like to have the option to access the CSV's data...
