Hello, I am experiencing an issue with my newly built cluster. First I will give you the details behind my configuration.
Operating System - w2008r2
SQL 2012 Multi site cluster using DataKeeper for clusters (for managing the disk which is local disk).
I have a two nic/subnet configuration. 1 nic is used for the sql/cluster traffic. The second nic is dedicated to datakeeper for the disk replication.
According to the datakeeper documentation the quorum needs to be configured as node and file share majority. I have the file share on the side of the network where the primary server resides.
If I power the server off or reboot the server then the cluster fails over without issue. I can also manually fail the cluster back and forth between the two nodes without issue. However, if I disable the nic that is used for the sql communications then the cluster goes into a failed state but it does not failover. I was thinking this might be because the quorum file share is still accessible so I also removed sharing on the file share and disabled the nic and the cluster still did not failover. I would think that in the scenario where the nic used for the sql and cluster communications is not available (for whatever reason) the cluster should failover.
